What moves the WTI crude price
West Texas Intermediate is light US crude delivered to the Cushing, Oklahoma hub. It is the US benchmark and the most liquid oil futures contract in the world.
WTI reacts more than Brent to weekly US inventory data and shale output. In April 2020 the May WTI contract went negative for the first time, settling at −$37.63 a barrel, as storage filled up and holders paid to avoid taking delivery.
