What moves the Brent crude price
Brent is the North Sea benchmark that prices roughly two thirds of the world's oil, including Russian Urals, which trades at a discount to it. The quote on this page is the front-month ICE Brent futures contract.
Prices react to OPEC+ output quotas, US inventories, Middle East conflicts, sanctions and Chinese demand. Pricier oil feeds into inflation, so central banks and crypto traders both watch Brent: expensive oil pushes rate cuts further out.
