What moves the copper price
Copper is nicknamed Dr. Copper because it runs through construction, power grids, EVs and data centers, so its price reads the health of the economy. China buys more than half of the world's supply.
COMEX copper is quoted in dollars per pound, while the London LME quotes it per metric ton. Scrap buyers pay below the exchange price to cover processing and freight.
