Litecoin (LTC) price
#24InfrastructureAbout the project
Litecoin is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, created by Charlie Lee in 2011 as a lighter version of bitcoin. Blocks come every 2.5 minutes instead of ten, and mining uses the Scrypt algorithm.
Supply is capped at 84 million coins, with halvings roughly every four years. Litecoin has often served as a testbed for bitcoin upgrades: SegWit and the Lightning Network went live here first. Later it added optional privacy through MWEB.
