TRON is a blockchain founded by Justin Sun in 2017. It is known for fast, cheap transfers and has become the main network for the USDT stablecoin: a large share of Tether transfers between exchanges, OTC desks and users runs on TRON.
The network uses delegated proof-of-stake, with 27 elected Super Representatives producing blocks. TRX pays for network resources (bandwidth and energy) and is used for voting. TRON also hosts ecosystem DeFi protocols such as JustLend and the USDD stablecoin.
