What drives the rate
Euro. The euro is used by 21 eurozone countries. EUR/USD is the most traded currency pair in the world, about a fifth of global FX turnover, and it trades mostly on the gap between ECB and Fed rates.
Ukrainian hryvnia. Since October 2023 the National Bank of Ukraine has run a managed-flexibility regime: the rate floats, but the bank smooths swings with FX sales from reserves.
