Hyperliquidity Provider (HLP)
Frequently asked questions
What is HLP on Hyperliquid?
HLP (Hyperliquidity Provider) is the exchange's own community vault. It quotes prices in the order books and takes over positions that are liquidated, so it earns when traders lose and loses when the crowd is right.
How does HLP make money?
From the spread on market making, from liquidations and from funding. Most of its profit comes on days of sharp moves, when many leveraged traders are wiped out at once.
Can anyone deposit into HLP?
Yes, any Hyperliquid account can deposit USDC. Deposits are locked for 4 days, and profit or loss is shared in proportion to each depositor's share of the vault.
Can HLP lose money?
Yes. When the market moves hard against the positions it holds, or when a large trader profits against it, the vault books a loss. The chart on this page shows every such drawdown.
How often is the data updated?
Vault size, P&L and yield update automatically throughout the day.
