Where does the leaderboard data come from?

From Hyperliquid itself. Account values and P&L are public on-chain, and we add current positions from our own sweep of the exchange.

Can I see the trades of a top trader?

Yes. The wallet page lists open positions, closed trades with results, the fill feed and deposits and withdrawals.
