On August 27, Solana’s 7-day average network fees surged to nearly 9,200 SOL per day—a record high and about 80% above where they were three months ago. Over the same week, the number of transactions (excluding validator votes) hit 191 million, more than double the 88 million from a year ago.
Fees and On-Chain Activity
The spike in fees and transaction volume shows just how much demand is hitting the Solana network right now. The 7-day average smooths out any single-day spikes, giving a clearer picture of sustained activity.
Jito Validator Tips Climb Higher
At the same time, average daily tips paid to Jito validators jumped to 2,073 SOL. That metric is moving in lockstep with the uptick in on-chain action.
SGP-0002 and SOL Emission
This wave of activity coincided with the approval of SGP-0002, which will double the pace at which Solana’s emission rate drops. With fees near record highs and transaction counts setting new peaks, the network is definitely running hotter than ever.
