Serbia’s Minister of Finance recently sat down with leadership from the Solana Foundation and Solana Policy Institute. On the agenda: upgrading Serbia’s digital asset laws, building out the country’s financial infrastructure and capital markets—including tokenized securities on the Belgrade Stock Exchange—and a possible Solana presence at Expo 2027 in Belgrade.

Upgrading Serbia’s Digital Asset Laws

The two sides talked about modernizing Serbia’s regulatory framework for digital assets. The focus was on tightening up the rules for the sector and giving market players more legal clarity.

Infrastructure and Capital Markets

Another big topic was developing Serbia’s financial infrastructure and capital markets. They zeroed in on tokenized securities on the Belgrade Stock Exchange as a key area needing both tech innovation and regulatory groundwork.

They also floated the idea of Solana joining Expo 2027 in Belgrade. This was on the table alongside all the regulatory and infrastructure discussions.
