BNB Chain developers plan to launch a new high-performance L1: blocks will be produced every 200ms, with pre-confirmation around 20ms. There will be no new token—fees, staking, and voting will all use BNB, according to the published documentation.

200ms Blocks and Sub-Second Ordering

The specification outlines blocks at 200ms intervals, pre-confirmation of about 20ms, and transaction ordering at sub-second speed. The network targets use cases where transaction speed and predictability are critical, positioning itself as a potential competitor to Hyperliquid, Lighter, and Aster.

One Token for Fees, Staking, and Voting

No new token is planned: fees, staking, and voting will all use BNB. The "Multiple chains, one coins" approach was confirmed by Changpeng Zhao.

BSC to Continue; Testnet Not Launched

The current BSC network will continue to operate without changes, while the new L1 will be dedicated to scenarios requiring maximum speed and transaction inclusion predictability. A public testnet has not yet been launched.
