Symbiosis says it has recovered part of the funds lost in the recent Bitcoin bridge exploit. On September 11, an unknown attacker hit the project’s bridge infrastructure and minted unbacked syBTC tokens. The team managed to claw back around 15 BTC so far. They’re offering the hacker a 20% bounty if the rest of the stolen funds are returned. The affected bridge is paused, and Symbiosis is working on compensation plans for liquidity providers. The total loss was still being calculated at the time of the announcement.

Funds Recovered and Bounty Offer
The Symbiosis team reported they’ve recovered about 15 BTC. To speed up the return of the remaining assets, they’ve offered the attacker a “white hat” bounty—20% of the total—if the stolen funds are sent back.
Compensation for Liquidity Providers
Symbiosis has started working on a compensation plan for liquidity providers affected by the exploit. The final amount of the losses was still being determined when the statement was released.
