Suno just rolled out the sixth version of its AI music generator. The company says this new model is trained exclusively on licensed data, developed in partnership with major labels Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe.
Partners and Licensed Data
With this release, Suno is making a big deal about switching to a fully licensed dataset. Heavyweight music companies—Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe—are all on board. The goal? To put to rest any questions about training data sources and make sure the AI-generated music is legally airtight.
Versions and Access
The update brings three versions of the neural network. The main algorithm, dubbed v6, is available to users on the Pro and Premier subscription tiers.
Context
The launch comes as Suno faces ongoing lawsuits from copyright holders. Just a day before v6 dropped, the company admitted they had previously collected data from YouTube videos.
