According to Cointelegraph, an OKX survey found that students are seriously interested in taking courses on crypto and blockchain. But instead of learning in classrooms, a big chunk of them are picking up knowledge from social media. This shift highlights a gap between what students want and what traditional education is actually offering when it comes to crypto-focused programs.
The Academic Gap
A separate review found that only about 28% of accredited US business schools currently offer blockchain courses. That’s a sharp contrast to the demand for crypto classes revealed in the OKX survey, pointing to how limited these topics are in college curriculums. So, a lot of students who want to dive in are left searching for other ways to learn.
Social Media Over Classrooms
With formal courses in short supply, students are turning to social media as their go-to source for crypto knowledge. This move underscores how learning is shifting toward informal channels and self-study. The focus is on practical skills and real-world crypto know-how, since colleges aren’t stepping up with enough structured options.
