Nvidia-backed startup Starcloud will install ASIC miners on the Starcloud-2 satellite, which is scheduled for launch by the end of the year. Once in orbit, the equipment will begin mining BTC using nearly continuous solar energy.

The project plans to start mining after the Starcloud-2 spacecraft reaches orbit. The main idea is to use the almost constant sunlight in space to power the computing equipment, enabling uninterrupted operations compared to ground-based infrastructure.

The initiative involves specialized devices for BTC mining (ASIC miners), which are set to be activated once the satellite is in orbit.
