Shinhan Financial Group just announced a strategic partnership with Visa, covering stablecoins, AI-powered payments, and B2B settlements—all aimed at building the 'finance of the future.' According to ForkLog, the two are looking to bring digital assets into real-world payment infrastructure and corporate settlements.

What's in the deal

The group plans to use Visa’s platform to verify the issuance, transfer, and redemption of stablecoins. This setup is designed to make every step of a stablecoin’s lifecycle fully auditable on-chain.

Korean market model and pilot tests

Shinhan and Visa will co-develop a model tailored for the Korean market and run pilot programs to test how these digital assets work for payment card settlements. The pilot aims to adapt card processing flows to handle stablecoins directly.

B2B and AI payment focus

The agreement also covers AI-driven payments and B2B settlements within Shinhan’s vision for future finance. Both sides want to trial scenarios where digital assets and smart algorithms streamline corporate payment flows and network interactions.
