Proposed Valuation Is 64% Higher Than March
The potential $1.4 trillion valuation is about 64% higher than the $852 billion figure from March, when OpenAI raised $122 billion. According to company sources, strong investor interest is fueling talks for the new round.
IPO Not Expected Before 2027; AI Safety Remains a Priority
The company is postponing its listing until at least 2027. Earlier this month, CEO Sam Altman described a 2026 IPO as “not practical,” citing a focus on AI safety. In June, OpenAI confidentially filed IPO documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Earlier this month, Altman addressed the UN Security Council, highlighting risks from increasingly powerful AI systems.
