NEAR Intents said on Friday that it has identified the individual behind the hack that resulted in the theft of $3.8 million in user funds on Thursday, and gave the person 48 hours to return the money as part of a "responsible disclosure." Project lead Alex Shevchenko posted a message saying "We have identified you, sir" along with addresses for transferring funds in BTC, BNB, and Solana.
Services suspended due to bug in contract interaction
On Thursday, NEAR Intents suspended its services after discovering a "bug in the interaction between the Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure and the NEAR Intents smart contract."
Project promises full compensation to affected users
Preliminary investigation found that $3.8 million was stolen; the team has promised to compensate all affected users for their losses.
ZachXBT: funds sent to KuCoin and bridged to Bitcoin
Blockchain researcher ZachXBT reported that the funds withdrawn during the incident were sent to the KuCoin exchange and then bridged to the Bitcoin network.
