The Moscow Exchange is gearing up to launch crypto trading. According to Sergey Shvetsov, chairman of the supervisory board, the platform will be technologically ready to kick things off by December 1. Trading quotes will be shown in 'quasi-dollars,' but all settlements will happen in rubles. For local digital assets, both pricing and settlements will be in rubles.

Timeline: Tech-Ready by December 1

Sergey Shvetsov said that the exchange will be tech-ready for crypto trading by December 1. The focus right now is on building out the infrastructure to support trading operations.

Trading Model: 'Quasi-Dollars' and Rubles

The exchange plans to list quotes in dollars for reference, but all settlements will be done in rubles—a setup they're calling 'quasi-dollars.' This lets traders see prices in familiar dollar terms, while keeping the actual transactions in rubles.

Local Digital Assets

For local digital assets, the exchange will use a ruble-only trading mode. That means both the quotes and the settlements will be directly in the Russian national currency.
