Moonwell, a DeFi protocol running on Base, just got hit with an exploit. Blockchain security firm PeckShield reported that around $8.7 million in DAI was stolen. According to their analysts, the funds are currently sitting at address 0xD71d…C384.

The loss is estimated at about $8.7 million (earlier reports rounded it to $9 million). PeckShieldAlert broke the news on August 27, 2026. Technical details on how the attack went down haven’t been shared yet.

Where the Funds Went

PeckShield says the stolen DAI is parked at 0xD71d…C384. At this point, there's no info on any movements out of that wallet.
