Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared that he took part in a meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s National Crypto Council, chaired by President Sadyr Japarov. The discussion focused on growing the country’s crypto industry, ramping up anti-money laundering (AML) efforts, fighting scams, and exploring stablecoins and tokenization.

According to attendees, the council tackled hands-on issues like building out market infrastructure, tightening up compliance, preventing abuses, and mapping out how to issue and circulate stablecoins as well as use tokenization in the Kyrgyz market.
CZ on what’s been accomplished in a year
CZ says that over the past year, Kyrgyzstan has set up a regulatory framework for crypto, opened banking rails for exchanges, and rolled out the KGST stablecoin. No extra details or timelines for these moves were shared.
