No government money has been used to buy Bitcoin, and the IMF doesn’t expect any new inflows either. So, no official Bitcoin purchases have happened during this period.

The IMF report notes that after June 27, 2025, all deposits to El Salvador’s official wallets are from private donors—not from the state budget. The Fund also points out it doesn’t expect any new donations to hit these wallets going forward.
EFF Reviews and Potential Funding
This update comes as the IMF and El Salvador reached a deal combining the second and third reviews of the country’s 40-month Extended Fund Facility program. If the commissions sign off, El Salvador could get around $140 million in extra funding.
