Publicly traded Hyperscale Data has completely shut down its bitcoin mining operations at its Michigan site, shifting the facility’s focus to building out an AI data center. The company plans to sell off all its mining rigs from the location. Hyperscale Data will keep mining crypto at its Montana site.
20 MW Contract Could Bring in Over $1.2 Billion
Hyperscale Data inked a deal with an undisclosed neocloud provider for access to 20 MW of power at the Michigan site, with the contract potentially generating more than $1.2 billion in revenue over its maximum term.
Expansion Option to 32 MW—Deal Worth Over $3 Billion
The agreement includes an option to ramp up to 32 MW, which could push the total contract value past $3 billion.
What’s Next for Mining?
Bitcoin mining in Michigan is done, and the infrastructure is getting a full AI makeover. Hyperscale Data is looking to sell all the mining gear from the site. Crypto mining will continue at their Montana location.
