Two OG crypto projects just announced they're pulling the plug on their networks. Harmony is shutting down its blockchain after seven years and moving the ONE token over to Ethereum. Meanwhile, Router Protocol is calling it quits after four years, with a full shutdown set for September 30 and plans to start delisting the ROUTE token from centralized exchanges.

Harmony: Blockchain Shutdown & ONE Migration

The Harmony team plans to fully shut down its blockchain and migrate the ONE token to Ethereum. This move comes after a major hack forced the network to roll back to a pre-attack state. The devs also said they're shifting focus to a new direction centered on AI-powered video.

Router Protocol: Closing September 30 & Token Burn

Router Protocol announced the project will shut down completely on September 30. The team plans to burn 303.3 million ROUTE from the treasury and start delisting the token from centralized exchanges. Router cited the ongoing Web3 liquidity crunch, capital flowing into AI, and worsening bridge tokenomics as reasons for the decision.

Why They're Shutting Down

Both teams pointed to the market's big AI pivot: Harmony's moving toward AI video, while Router highlighted capital leaving Web3 for AI and weak liquidity. By closing their own chains and slashing token supply through burns, they're hoping to make it easier to chase new directions.
