Russia’s Federal Tax Service (FNS) is gearing up to link digital ruble transactions directly to users’ devices. Starting in July 2027, the FNS will get access to expanded digital ruble transaction statements. Along with the usual info like amount, timestamp, and parties involved, these statements will include extra technical details.
What Data Will Be Included
The new statements are set to feature IP and MAC addresses, phone numbers, SIM card data, and a unique device ID used for each transaction. All this will be added on top of standard fields like transaction amount, time, and sender/receiver info.
Why the Tax Service Wants This Access
Having both network and subscriber identifiers will let the tax office spot cases where multiple accounts are managed from a single device, help uncover undeclared income, and track the use of someone else’s wallet when making digital ruble transfers.
