Ethereum devs are eyeing October 6 for the Glamsterdam upgrade rollout on the Sepolia testnet. Internal testing hasn’t been smooth so far—there’s still instability in the current build, so the team is prepping a fresh testing phase. If they hit any major bugs, the Sepolia activation date will get pushed back. Mainnet deployment is still up in the air, but December is the current target.

Sepolia upgrade penciled in for October 6

The plan is to activate Glamsterdam on Sepolia on October 6, but that’s just a tentative date. The actual launch in the testnet depends on the next round of checks—if critical bugs pop up, the timeline will shift.

Fresh round of testing coming up

Internal audits show the current implementation isn’t stable. The team’s getting ready for another round of testing to stress-test the upgrade and catch any regressions. After this, they’ll decide whether to stick with the Sepolia date or move it.

Mainnet launch still TBD

No hard date for the Glamsterdam mainnet activation yet. December is the working estimate, but the final schedule hangs on how the tests go and whether any critical issues show up.
