The Cronos team says they've managed to claw back most of the funds after the Tectonic lending protocol hack: out of the $120.4 million targeted, about $111.2 million has been recovered. However, $9.19 million was drained before the network was paused and hasn't been returned.

How Big Was the Attack?

The exploit put $120.4 million in assets at risk. After scrambling to contain the damage, Cronos managed to restore roughly $111.2 million. That still leaves $9.19 million missing, with no sign of recovery yet.

What Validators Did

To roll things back and recover funds, validators reverted Cronos by nearly two hours—wiping out 10,961 blocks. Every transaction in that window, even unrelated to the hack, was canceled.

Network Status Now

After the rollback and cleanup, the Cronos network was back online in about 11 hours. CRO is the ecosystem’s native token.
