Conduit has filed a lawsuit against Tether, seeking to unfreeze $2.76 million in USDT and recover at least $2.76 million in damages. The complaint is related to the freezing of the company's wallet.
Conduit is a U.S.-based fintech service for international payments and transfers, helping businesses conduct transactions, including with USDT and USDC.
Freeze Linked to Investigation in Brazil
In September 2025, Tether froze Conduit's wallet containing $2.76 million in USDT amid an investigation by Brazil's federal police into Onix Intermediações, a former client of Conduit.
Conduit: No Freeze Request Was Made
The company states it was not a subject of the investigation, and Brazilian authorities did not request the wallet be frozen.
Onix Was No Longer a Client Before Wallet Creation
Conduit's relationship with Onix ended in April 2025—prior to the creation of the frozen wallet. According to Conduit, Onix's funds did not pass through this wallet.
Conduit claims Tether has withheld the funds for over a year and has not provided a legal basis for the continued freeze.
