Galaxy's research arm just dropped a fresh estimate on the fallout from the recent Coldcard hardware wallet hack. According to their data, users lost a total of 1,789 BTC.

How Big Was the Hack?

Galaxy Research collected 221 reports from Coldcard users who got hit. Over half of those victims lost more than 1 bitcoin each. That’s a pretty serious blow for anyone trusting their crypto stash to this device.

Where’s the Stolen Bitcoin?

Galaxy says 87% of the stolen BTC hasn’t moved. That suggests the hackers are mostly sitting on their haul for now, with no big cash-outs or transfers so far.
