On Friday, CoinMarketCap announced the acquisition of CoinGlass, a crypto derivatives data platform, for an undisclosed amount, expanding its coverage of leveraged trading data on major exchanges.
CoinGlass Brand and User Terms Remain Unchanged
CoinGlass will continue to operate under its existing brand and retain its team. The website, app, free tools, API, and current pricing will remain the same.
Coverage: 28 Exchanges and Over 2,500 Instruments
CoinGlass tracks open interest, funding rates, liquidations, and options. The platform covers 28 exchanges and more than 2,500 instruments.
CMC to Add Liquidation Clusters and Funding Rate Trends
CoinMarketCap stated that the deal will provide users with access to derivatives positioning data alongside cryptocurrency prices, including liquidation concentration zones and changes in funding rates.
Context: CoinMarketCap Has Been Owned by Binance Since 2020
Crypto exchange Binance acquired CoinMarketCap in April 2020. At that time, the company said the platform would continue to operate independently and that the exchange would not influence its rankings.
