Better Home & Finance and Coinbase just rolled out Bitcoin-backed mortgages for Coinbase One subscribers. This move opens up crypto-collateralized lending to a wider audience, letting users put up their bitcoin as collateral for a home loan. The companies are pitching this as an expansion of their joint initiative aimed at crypto holders who want to leverage their digital assets without selling them.

Who Can Apply

This mortgage is available exclusively to users with an active Coinbase One subscription. The offer is part of the ongoing partnership between Better Home & Finance and Coinbase, and is open to approved borrowers only.

Deal Terms

Approved borrowers get a 1% credit on their loan amount—capped at $10,000—to help offset closing costs. This bonus is designed to ease some of the financial burden that comes with finalizing a mortgage.

How the Program Evolved

The first version of this program was announced back in March. Now, it’s open to all Coinbase One members, giving more users the chance to use their bitcoin as collateral when applying for a mortgage.
