Clearview AI is testing a prototype AI tool called InquiryIQ. Its job? Automatically building a digital profile of a person after facial identification. According to prototype docs, the tool links together data from open sources—think social media accounts, addresses, employers, and even suspected connections.

What is InquiryIQ?

InquiryIQ is described as a system that aggregates and stitches together scattered traces across the public internet into a single dossier. Basically, after identifying someone by their face, it automatically hunts down and matches whatever info it can find online.

How the Prototype Was Discovered

Journalists found the tool in files that Clearview AI’s login page sent to browsers—even before any user logged in. These files included interface code, instructions, warnings, and feature descriptions for InquiryIQ.

What We Don’t Know

Reporters didn’t get access to InquiryIQ’s backend. Everything described here comes from client-side files and interface docs—no hands-on with the server side.
