What happened

Chinese AI chip makers — Huawei, Cambricon, MetaX, and Iluvatar CoreX — are raising prices across the board, hitting both current and upcoming products. Some chips are now up to 50% more expensive.

Huawei details

Huawei bumped the price of its Ascend 950DT card to over 250,000 yuan ($37,255). That’s a 20–50% jump from what they were quoting customers just two months ago.

Cambricon and the rest

Cambricon has raised its price target for its unreleased processor, code-named 690, by 20–30%. MetaX and Iluvatar CoreX have also confirmed price hikes.
