Cardano has integrated support for the x402 standard, officially joining the x402 ecosystem. This move opens the door for developers to build apps and AI agents that can pay for online services using ADA and other tokens from the Cardano ecosystem. For now, the Cardano payment module has only been tested on the testnet—there's no mainnet launch yet.

What x402 Brings to Cardano Devs

With x402, developers can bake payments right into the logic of their AI agents and apps, using ADA or any Cardano-issued token. It makes building services that pay for online stuff programmatically—no user interaction needed—a lot easier.

Cross-Ecosystem Compatibility

x402 is already live on Solana and XRP Ledger. Cardano's support means more networks now offer a unified way to handle in-app payments out of the box.

Launch Status

Right now, Cardano's x402 payment module has only cleared testnet trials. There's no date for a mainnet rollout yet.
