Germany’s central bank, the Bundesbank, has become the first to roll out ZKsync technology in its own infrastructure, kicking off tests of Prividium—a Matter Labs platform built for private, permissioned blockchain networks in the financial sector.
Prividium: A Closed Blockchain Network for Banks
The Bundesbank is piloting Prividium, a platform designed for banks and major financial institutions. Developed by Matter Labs, the team behind ZKsync, Prividium is built to run inside a client’s own IT perimeter with customizable access controls.
On-Chain Privacy with ZK-Proof Verification
With Prividium, all smart contract and token data stays locked down within the bank’s infrastructure. Transactions are validated using zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs, so the underlying data never leaves the bank, but the math still guarantees everything checks out. This combo of privacy and cryptographic auditability lines up with what banks and enterprises need from their blockchain stacks.
