Bitdeer just announced a new wind-powered Bitcoin mining project in Texas. They're setting up shop at the Kati 1 site, a wind-powered data center that's plugged right into the Las Majadas wind farm.

Mining Bitcoin with Clean Energy

Bitdeer plans to deploy Bitcoin mining rigs with a total capacity of 28 MW at the Soluna facility. This move will bump up their hash rate by about 1.93 EH/s. The big draw here: they’re running entirely on renewable wind power, checking all the boxes for sustainability and green mining that the industry’s chasing right now.

Project Technicals

Kati 1 will be packed with Bitdeer’s own Sealminer ASIC miners. The wind-powered site itself has a total capacity of 83 MW, leaving plenty of room to scale up down the line. Equipment installation kicks off in September and will roll out in stages.

What It Means for Texas and the Crypto Industry

Bitdeer’s project at the Las Majadas wind farm is a sign of the growing push for renewables in crypto mining. Going green like this helps shrink the industry's carbon footprint and opens the door for more innovative solutions in digital asset mining.
