Anthropic has announced a partnership with consulting giant Accenture to ramp up independent audits of cutting-edge AI models. The two companies are planning to invest at least $2 billion over the next five years, with each committing a minimum of $1 billion to build out the necessary infrastructure and capabilities.

Who’s Involved and Who’s Leading

The initiative will be led by Faculty, Accenture’s specialized AI division. Faculty will take charge of building the infrastructure and processes for independent assessment and auditing of AI models, as well as training teams and developing methodologies needed to make it happen.

What the Program Covers

The program is focused on independent evaluation of “frontier” (advanced) AI models. Anthropic says the partnership includes a commitment to embed external auditors into its own workflows, aiming to boost the quality and transparency of how its models are built and managed.

Timeline and Investment

The project is set to run for five years. Total investment will hit at least $2 billion, with both companies expecting to put up a minimum of $1 billion each to drive this effort forward.
