Uniswap is the largest decentralized exchange on Ethereum, created by Hayden Adams in 2018. Instead of an order book it uses liquidity pools: users deposit token pairs, and prices are set by an automated market maker formula.
Uniswap runs on Ethereum and dozens of layer-2s and other chains. UNI gives holders a vote in protocol governance. Uniswap Labs also builds Unichain, its own layer-2 network, and the Uniswap wallet.
